Best places to find photos for your wellness website: free & paid options
At the beginning of every website design project, I have a “photos” conversation between with my client. High-quality, professionally taken photos can make or break your website. It doesn’t matter how well the design is, the photos will tie it all together. And many times, it is the photos that tell the story.
I ALWAYS recommend my clients to invest in professional photos of them taken by a local photographer (quick shout-out to the amazing David and Meivys power dual who took my photos for this website - they are amazing!). But I also know we might need some extra stock photography to help populate our websites (and social medias) to help tell the story we want.
And while your photographers can coordinate with you during your photoshoot to capture “stock photos” that match your brand, I wanted to give you some other websites you can either download high quality images for free or purchase stock photography.
This article down into two sections: free photos & paid photos.
OBS:
While using free images might sound amazing because you are not spending any of your business budget on it, it also means more people might be using it than the paid photos. I have seen numerous times the same images being used over and over again on websites and social media by different people. So keep an eye out to avoid overused images.
I believe the best thing is to do a mix of paid and unpaid photos. This way you have a better, unique selection for your website.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, you DO NOT want to use images from Google on your website/social media/marketing. Those photos are most likely copyrighted! To avoid any legal issues, uses the ‘free images’ resources I share below.
